This week was a very sad week for me. Three months ago I lost my Mom and this week my dearest friend and soul mate Ruby, my little rescue boxer dog passed into the non – physical world! She, who was constantly at my side teaching me unconditional love and  helped not only me, but countless children and families in so many ways.

Bereavement is a difficult issue that we all have to face at some time in our lives but for children it can be  a transformative experience – just as it is for me and Ruby. Children (depending on their age and developmental stage of course) tend to have a much more open understanding towards death. Firstly that it is an illusion and in the ‘heart mind place’ we can always connect with our loved one.

Of course Dr Bach’s Flower Essence – Star of Bethlehem – is the natural remedy to help us through such times. I do have some other resources that may help too – so let me know if that applies to you and I’ll send you some helpful stuff over.

But Ruby taught me too how to go into that ‘heart mind place’ – she wanted me to set that up too -  for families… so they could post pictures / stories / poems of their pets there.
