ADHD medications

Today I had a very worrying email from a Mom in San Diego. She wants her story to be circulated to help other parents considering putting their child on medication:

Has anyone else experienced Vision loss while on ADHD Meds?? My daughter had this happen while on Concerta and then Daytrana (patch form). The Doctor insisted that this is NOT possible. IT IS!!
She stopped taking Concerta in 9/08 and it took a year for her vision to return - we are talking VERY strong bi-focals for an 11 year old. Her vision returned 9/09 she went on the Daytrana

She is doing pretty well considering she is basically withdrawaling right now from the Daytrana. We started a "gluten free" diet and she says that she is already feeling better.
Thanks so much!

We had an appointment this evening with my daughters eye Doctor. I believe that the meds affected her eye muscles. They did not move which caused her to have accommodative insufficiency. This has now corrected itself by about 90%. I am so relieved!!!”

What a powerful story!

How many people are aware of this side effect??

The list is endless.
