How does Paul the octopus do it then?
So how does Paul the Octopus do it?
Is he really psychic?
Or just gifted and talented?
Maybe he falls into the gifted category of ADHD?
Well anyway, animals have long been used for their gifts that us mere humans really can’t begin to understand.
An aquarium strategically placed in waiting rooms around the world are regular features now due to their stress relieving properties. Animals certainly have empathy, a way of communicating with humans who are receptive. And children usually are! There are countless times throughout our HET pet programme that I have seen the most amazing healing processes taking place between animals and children with challenges in their life. I have recently posted stories about how animals in the classroom can improve children’s behaviour This one is taken from the BBC – here it is again if you missed it;
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8632592.stm
My beautiful Ruby the Boxer dog helped countless children with HET (Holistic Educational Therapy) and would regularly work beside me sharing stories of her own second rescue past that children could identify with, when they were not able to bring themselves to talk about or even own, similar issues in their own lives. Daisy the pig with attitude was taught to take over from where Ruby left her work and makes numerous internet films and materials today, to help support understanding into behavioural issues for children, parents and professionals alike. Is she competition for Paul? Did he predict or ‘manifest’ the World cup results? Does he rival Daisy’s power of manifestation? Watch the packet of biscuits in the clip below and let me know what you think?
Is this really ‘Law of attraction’ in motion???
Paul the Octopus.... Watch this space!!

Raoul Moat, When will we ever learn?
The Raoul Moat incident - What a tragic story for all involved from start to finish! How could it all have been avoided? This is the question that the nation wakes up to this morning. Details are unfolding about the life experiences that created this man’s desperate rampage since his release from prison. Sketchy details are hitting the media about some of his last discussions revolving around not having a father. His childhood of being raised by his grandmother. His mother, on record as saying he would be better off dead. His abuse as a child. His criminal record chequered with violence and anger. And… now? He leaves behind 3 children. Their lives overshadowed by the legacy of this man’s hate and violence. The pattern repeats as they too, grow up without their father. The public outcry at the pain his uncontrollable actions have caused in so many lives and the grip of fear he held over a small community for over a week, has to be more than heard. It has to be listened to. Where does it all stop? Through the blame and pain, we are all held to account! We have to look at a society that allowed this man’s childhood experiences to shape the man that became Britain’s most wanted. Yes, there are lessons to learn for the police, government, prison reforms etc., but the biggest lesson to learn is from how much of this experience is going to overshadow his children’s development? We read reports of consequences of the domestic violence between him and his ex partner…… What support was there for that young family? How many more of these patterns are going to be repeated across the generations? How many threads are there of this same story running through families around the world today? In the powerful words of an old song :
“When will they ever learn – oh when will we ever learn?” Tags: Behavioural Problems

latest research
I just need to share some of the latest research with you to check over:
Firstly - I think the latest horrifying statistics from Wales give us an insight into the pandemic of prescribing medication for children with challenging behaviours. Please note that some autorities refuse to disclose how bad the problem is there!!!
Secondly, the research form Australia that states thet when a sample of children diagnosed with ADHD were reassessed by a multi discplinary team - i in 3 of them did not actually have ADHD!! http://www.6minutes.com.au/articles/z1/view.asp?id=518622 That there is now huge concern over the fact that all children who are being prescribed these meds need to screened for heart problems because of the horrendous side effects in children: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/723978

ADHD and allergies
On the site I have posted videos on diet and nutritional help for dealing with ADHD. Also how to do a simple muscle test to check if your child's ADHD is being affected by certain food. I have worked with many children who have instantly 'kicked off' with certain foods and I came by a fantastic video the other day that shows exactly what i mean when i say it can be any food that triggers it. The Feingold diet is a way of eliminating certain highly allergic foods then reintroducing them to give you insights into what the culprits are which need to be taken out of the diet. These are indicated by the muscle test. It is not an easy process and you need to be very thorough and include the whole family. However the results can be literally life changing. For information relating to low allergen gardens - visit the ecoprojects page and download my eBook on the chelsea flower show.
Hope you find this video by Dr Rapp helpful

ADHD and computer games
In supporting teachers and families with children with ADHD tendencies I have often built in access to computer games as part of the reward incentive programme - I have just come across this site that explains why it is a good approach and recommends some great games- can anyone recommend others? http://addadhd.suite101.com/article.cfm/adhd-video-games-and-brain-training

Powerful Mis - Information AGAIN
Just need to let off steam! The pharmaceutical industry are at it again!!! Another pharmaceutical backed ADHD website has been launched under the guise of " SUPPORTING" parents!!! They have provided funding to make ADHD awareness films etc and launch a marketing campaign to promote their own drugs. These are controversial drugs!!!! And they have the cheek to suggest that "There is little research to show that complementary therapies work"!!!! Well I have years of research to show that it DOES!!!! This focus is being targetted in the UK because NHS funding covers the general costs of the medication which is free for children.
Check this one out for veted interest!!!

ADHD reassessed
I just thought I'd share an interesting piece of research that shows that when a group of children already diagnosed with ADHD were reassessed, 1 in 3 were found not to have ADHD!
Worth a read! http://www.6minutes.com.au/articles/z1/view.asp?id=518622
