ADHD statistics

I have been often asked to cite statistics in support of the natural approach to ADHD.

This is the most powerful argument I can find:

ADHD and pesticides

Don't know if any of you have followed this piece of research that looks at the impact of pesticides in our food has on ADHD:

but also interesting is the response of the crop growers who seem more concerned about the cut in their profits than the problems their chemical are causing:

I have been developing a natural curriculum for families to grow organic together and there are free projects to download and eBooks to help famiies get started on our website

Anyone else had success of getting children out in the open air growing things and eating the result???

Making the connections

In working with HET and natural approaches to support families, it is often the case that ADHD and autism are diagnosed together. This of course make the bahavioural scales which define the diagnosis even more complicated.

However the most often asked question is - Do vaccines cause autism?

i came by this information today - what do you think?

(NaturalNews) Influenza vaccines have sent 57 children into life-threatening convulsions, reports The Age out of Australia. These influenza vaccines were being give to children under five to "protect" them from seasonal flu, but after receiving the shots, these children started going into convulsions.

An investigation has revealed that there is no quality control problem with any particular batch of influenza vaccines. They all pass quality control, in other words, so the convulsions are being caused by what is intentionally put into the vaccines, not by some mistaken chemical contaminant.

This, of course, baffles conventional doctors who have all been told that vaccines are perfectly safe and could never harm anyone. So rather than pausing to consider what might be contained in the vaccines that's causing children to go into convulsions, they charge ahead with the recommendation that even more people should get vaccines.

Alan Hampson, chairman of Australia's Influenza Specialist Group, "...advised young, healthy people anxious to get the flu vaccine to consider having the swine flu vaccine" reports The Age. There is no amount of real-world evidence, you see, that can break the mythological stranglehold that vaccines have over the minds of mainstream physicians. Even if children start dropping to the floor and convulsing right in front of them, they will continue to push vaccines on even more children.

hmmmmmm...... ??!!!

Hidden agendas????

I  recently posted  a link to  forcasts for investments in medication for behavioural issues which indicated sound investments in this field for those who can stomach making money in this way.

Check out this link and find out why?

In my opinion, having worked with children as an educationalist, therapist and HET consultant for over 30 years - this will apply to every child at every developmental stage!

investing in our children's future

I recently came across this link that involves planning forecasts into medication for ADHD so that people can make money out of ADHD being prescribed in the future as a good bet!

http://www.pr-inside.com/now-available-attention-deficit-hyperactivity-r1854632.htm

This was on the same day as I heard from a colleague ( Ed Psych) who helped me evaluate HET 10 years ago expressing concern about over prescribing these medications:

What do you think is the best investment for a child with ADHD???

ADHD Diagnosis

For all those families whose children have received a diagnosis of ADHD - you may well have been advised to look at introducing medication.

Have you ever wondered how that diagnosis came about? It is not like diabetes for example which is established through simple blood tests - it is down to a checklist of criteria.

Those criteria are defined by people who sit in rooms and talk about it. And guess what they can't agree on it  - does that inspire you with confidence?

And if that is not enough - there is even a new disorder designer label for children's behaviour:

Temper dysregulation disorder - now as an educationalist  of many years standing - I would appear to have encountered this in every classroom I  have visited. I wonder how much the pharmaceutical companies will make out of this particular epidemic?

Please let me know what you think?

Who is on trial?

Now here is an interesting story

Carolyn Riley jailed for daughter's ADHD death

A mother jailed for overdosing her 4 year old on ADHD medication. The child had been on this medication since she was 2.

Where is the consultant in all of this who made the diagnosis and wrote the prescription??

What do you think?

Political correctness gone crazy?

Here’s something interesting…

Would love to hear your feedback on this one!

I have made contact with a wonderful lady who had set up an animal sanctuary in a children’s home and not only helped animals with problems but also inspired young people with huge problems and who are unable to learn. With such an amazing project and an initiative to grow food and vegetables happening alongside – I saw a mini Willow Bridge and opportunity for Eco Therapy.

I had arranged with this lady, for Daisy the pig with ADHD, to spend a short vacation at the children’s home to help things along a bit with her stories and video films – internet celebrity that she is!

So we worked alongside of this with me offering to train staff in HET for free and to freely provide therapy for some of the most challenging children there, so desperately in need of help and  to deliver our alternative curriculum and eco therapy.

However, the Head of Children’s Services stepped in and they had a 2 week debate on whether or not this would be acceptable should they have a Muslim child in the home who might be offended at having a pig in the vicinity.

So, the debate went on despite the children who are already there not having access to any therapy or educational support, because resources are scarce. Anyway, the agreement was finally arrived at that yes it would be OK! Daisy could spend some time in their animal sanctuary, as any hypothetical Muslim child who might possibly be offended  also needed to learn about our culture too!

Green light…..

Until the local Rabbi got to hear about it!

And I am not joking!

Perhaps Daisy won’t be able to visit and help and perhaps I won’t be able to deliver HET training there to staff and help children too????

Is it only me who thinks the world has gone crazy?
